The application process for the first year honours admission to Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) under the session 2011-12 will begin on September 15 and continue till October 15.
Aspirant students are required to send Short Message Service (SMS) from mobile phones with Teletalk network to obtain a personal identification number (PIN) during the period. The PIN will enable the aspirants to sit for the admission tests to be held on October 29.

The students who passed the Higher Secondary Certificate or equivalent examinations in 2010 and 2011 and Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations in 2008 and 2009 are eligible for applying to sit admission tests under A and B units.
On October 29, the admission test under A Unit (social science and business faculty) will be held at 10:00am and the test under B and B1 Unit (science faculty) will be held at 3:00pm. B unit includes all subjects including architecture while B1 includes all subjects excluding architecture.
The aspirant students have to send the SMS to 16222, writing SUST, first three words of the name of the education board (like Dhk for Dhaka), HSC roll no, the year of passing, and the key word of the unit (A, B or B1). The PIN will be sent in return SMSs.
The fee for A and B1 unit is Tk 550 and for B unit Tk 600. The required minimum to apply for admission is GPA 6.5 SSC and HSC combined with GPA 3 separately.
Aspirant students have to vie against 1,395 seats in 25 subjects this year.
