At least 10 shops were burnt in a fire in Kurigram ideal municipality market on Thursday morning.
The fire fighters sources said that the fire originated from electric short circuit in an electric shop at the market at about 9:30am.
Being informed, the fire fighters went to the spot and brought the fire under control after one hour of frantic efforts.
The affected businessmen of the shops estimated that the loss could go up to Tk 20 lakh.
Kurigram deputy commissioner, Md Habibur Rahman and mayor Noor Islam Nuru visited the spot.
