A fire burned a school and a thatched house at Maijpara near Textile Gate under Baizeed police station in the Chittagong city early Monday.
The fire originated form a short circuit and burned a school, run by BRAC, and a four-room thatched house, owned by one Rasheda Begum, at Maijpara at around 1:00am.
Two units of fire fighters for the Baizeed fire station put out the fire after one hour's effort.
According to the officials of the Chittagong Fire Control Room, valuables worth about Tk 2.5 lakh was damaged in the fire.
