The three assistant proctors of Chittagong University withdrew their resignation letters yesterday upon request of the vice-chancellor.
Proctor Dr Mohammad Akter Hossain, however, still stood firm to his decision of quitting.
The assistant proctors are Monjur Morshed, Mainul Islam, and Shipok Krishna Devnath.
CU Acting Registrar Prof Dr Mohammad Shafiul Alam confirmed the assistant proctors withdrew their resignation letters and said talks were underway with Dr Akter in this regard.
Assistant Proctor Shipok Krishna Devnath said Prof Md Anwarul Azim Arif, the vice-chancellor, requested them to withdraw the resignation letters, and so they did. Moreover, the activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League also begged pardon to them, he added.
