Students who have just passed the HSC and equivalent examinations will not face any seat crisis in higher educational institutions, education minister has said.
Nurul Islam Nahid, at the result launching press conference at Bangladesh Secretariat on Wednesday said, 'No one will face (seat) crisis. There are more seats in all universities and colleges than the (total number of) those who have passed.'
He said that while there would be competition at universities, engineering universities, medical colleges and agricultural universities, there are other colleges where students can enrol in degree courses.
'It's usual,' he said, adding that last year at least 250,000 seats remained vacant across Bangladesh.
The minister made the comment when journalists asked whether the large number of students who had passed would have seats available to enrol in higher studies.
In all 10 educational boards, including madrasa and technical, 5,74,261 students have come out successfully, 40,892 more than last year.
The minister expressed his satisfaction with the overall results.
