Professor Anwarul Azim Arif of the department of management studies of Chittagong University has been appointed vice-chancellor of the university.
An education ministry press release issued on Tuesday said that the president and chancellor of the university, Zillur Rahman, appointed Professor Anwarul Azim Arif in the post for the next four years.
The post fell vacant on November 28, 2010 following the death of the former vice-chancellor Professor Md Abu Yusuf.
After his death, Mohammed Alauddin, pro-vice-chancellor of the university, was appointed the acting vice-chancellor on December 9, 2010.
